Wedding

My intentions are to help you design your Wedding Ceremony that’s fun! and enjoyable!. This is your wedding which should reflect who you are as a couple. I want you both to enjoy this wonderful experience and to feel confident and comfortable knowing you are in very good hands for me to deliver a very auspicious and memorable occassion.

Step 1

Our first meeting; this will be an opportunity to get to know each other and establish a good working relationship. I will explain all legal requirements of the Marriage Act and other arrangements in a simple and timely fashion. If you are happy to appoint me as your celebrant, I will seek completion of the booking form and 50% of the base booking fee to secure your booking. Click on the below link to download a copy.

Step 2

The next step; I will send you a questionnaire to be completed and your first legal document – The Notice of Intention to Marry form or click on the download form button.

Step 3

At our next meeting; I will verify all details on the Notice of Intention to Marry form are correct before you sign in my presence. I will  sight the necessary identification documents required by law as stated below and issue you with ‘My Wedding Resource book.

  • Photos ID, such as a driver’s Licence or passport
  • If born in Australia, either an ORIGINAL Birth Certificate or passport
  • If born outside of Australia, either an ORIGINAL Birth Certificate or an Overseas Passport
  • Divorce Certificate or Death Certificate of spouse whichever is applicable – View www.ag.gov.au for details to assist.

Step 4

Questionnaire; I will review your completed questionnaire which will assist me to create and design your marriage ceremony, including all legal wording requirements under Australian Law, personal vows, readings by guests and or rituals if required.

Step 5

Draft of ceremony; is presented for you to check content. Any subsequent alterations will be communicated by email or phone for completion. Note: Deadline for any last minute changes or modifications is two weeks prior to the wedding date.

Step 6

Wedding Rehearsal; prefererably at the location of your ceremony at least one-week prior so all parties involved are familiar with the structure of your wedding ceremony and final check on all legal documents for accuracy. If the declaration of No Legal Impediment has not yet been signed, this can be completed at the rehearsal.

Step 7

ETA; in accordance with the Celebrant Code of Practice I will arrive at the venue for the Marriage Ceremony no later than twenty (20) minutes prior unless an alternative agreement has been made by you. However I would suggest the Groom / Partner to be there at least one (1) hour before to discuss any last minute arrangements before arrival of the bride.

Step 8

Etiquette; although it is traditional for the Bride / Partner to arrive late, be mindful that other weddings may be scheduled at the same venue.

Plan ‘B’; If you are having a wedding outdoors, It’s advisable that you have an alternative plan in case of inclement weather; this can be discussed at our first meeting.

Step 9

Enjoy; make sure you enjoy every special moment of the preparations, remember this is your day and it should be full of fun and excitement. If your feeling overwhelmed, arrange with your closest friend to organize a weekend away to take time out and pamper yourself, to a place where you can just breath and trust all will run well on the day, “Which It Will.”

Remember, I only perform one wedding each day so the total focus is on you. I feel privileged to make your Wedding Day the most memorable occasion in your life.
