A New Born
Today, Sunday 30-4-17, I went to church as normal, sorry I have to share this because it touched me so profoundly.
A family who were parishioners that I kinda got to know over a period of time with expressions of a smile and an offering of the sign of peace when I was able to extend my hand to them and eventually get enough courage to go up to them and introduce myself.
I had been observing this family in particular the mum who appeared to be expecting her second child ( I had not seen for a couple of weeks) but today she arrived with her new born son, named “Liam” which is the Irish for “William” and means “Strong Protector” as she came into the church pew I looked over and smiled with joy, to my awe, she stood up and came towards me still not really knowing me and placed her newborn son in my arms, I was so happy. As I exited the church I said to her, “you have the most precious jewel around your neck when you have the arms of your child around you.” Today you have given me a reminder of something I am truly thankful for, trust, respect, truth and love, the most precious jewels I will ever hold in the palm of my hand.
Today I have prayed for a dear friend of mine to one day experience that for herself, she knows who she is.
