A wedding can have varying rituals, the most universal, being one that symbolises a sacred union, traditions shaped to a degree by the religious beliefs and practices found in societies throughout the world.
In discussions with a beautiful couple I was privileged to marry, we choose a ‘Rose Ceremony’.
Their beautiful union symbolised by a presentation of roses to their mothers;
A red rose that not only was their way of expressing their eternal love for them but also in appreciation of their mother’s nurturing and care, safely planted in their hearts all those years ago when they first entered this world, and which has blossomed to this very day.
Having conducted their grandmother’s funeral 3-years ago they also chose;
A white rose that symbolised the coming together of two families and a reminder of loved ones that have passed. The rose’s promise that no matter what distance may separate them, they will always remain in their hearts and never forgotten.
What a lovely way to join two families as one and commemorate these beautiful legacies, holding in memory of those living and dead from where it began…Liv 🌷😉☘️
